Being an admissions representative is the perfect career for Ashley because it combines her outgoing and caring personality, her love of helping people achieve their dreams, and her background in public relations. She brings a lot of energy to the Academy, and has never met a stranger. She is a “girly girl”, and loves coming to work every day and being surrounded by beauty and fashion.
Ashley has been with the Academy since August 2011. Her prior professional experience has been in outside sales and marketing. She earned her degree in public relations with a minor in marketing from Murray State University in 1999. To better understand the Academy’s education program, she has attended several Summit Salon Business Seminars with industry leaders such as Michael Cole, Peter Mahoney, and Tina Terry Hunt.
Her passion is helping students make their dreams a reality. She loves celebrating wins with our students. When a student tells her they’ve learned a new haircut or been offered a job at a salon, that makes her work very fulfilling. Watching a student succeed while they are in school and beyond is the greatest reward of all.
She gets excited when meeting prospective students and their families because she can share with them the incredible journey they are about to begin by enrolling at the Academy. She believes that the program they offer can change someone’s life, and she will focus her energies on doing whatever she can to help someone get enrolled.
She is working to increase the community’s awareness of the Academy by visiting high schools, attending networking events, and community expos, teen fashion shows, etc. She is also helping build relationships with salons to better assist students with future job placements. She is always open to new ideas that will help the Academy grow our student body.
She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her and her husband enjoy grilling out, getting together with friends, listening to music, and watching Alabama football. When she can, she loves to visit her family in Kentucky.
